Manage your health and use your benefits better with the Blue Shield of California Promise Health Plan health news feed. Our secure health news feed sends useful updates just for you. There isn’t an app to download. We will send you a text message that lets you view personalized information on your phone.
How can I access this health news feed?
Once or twice a month, Blue Shield Promise will send you a text message when there are helpful items to read about your health care and plan. Some health news feed items may include member benefits. Others may include cost-saving tips and friendly reminders about annual screenings.
You can opt out from text messages at any time.

Does this service cost extra?
We don’t charge fees for this service. However, depending on your mobile plan, standard message and data rates may apply.
What happens next?
You will get a text message from “BlueShieldPromise” at 21867. Click the link in the message and create an eight-digit passcode. This passcode lets you access your health news feed. We will only ask you once for your passcode. If you clear your internet cache, you will have to provide the passcode again.
Each link lasts 72 hours. After that, you will receive a notification with a “resend auth” button at the bottom of the screen. Select the button to receive a new personalized link to access your health news feed. You can also use the ‘bookmark’ function, which allows you to access your news feed at your convenience.
For those with a non-smartphone
Your first web link will be sent to your mobile device. You can ‘bookmark’ the web-based health news feed and visit it from any of your web-enabled devices. You may need to enter your eight-digit verification passcode on separate devices.
Opting out and signing back up
You can opt out of receiving health news feed notifications at any time. Text “STOP” in response to the most recent message you received. To sign back up, you can go to the sign up page, and just provide us with your Blue Shield Promise member ID number and mobile phone number again.
