Need a ride to your medical appointment or to pick up medications? Blue Shield of California and Call the Car can help.

How to book a ride

Have your member ID ready and contact Call the Car at (855) 200-7544 (TTY:711). Call the Car also offers a mobile application (CTC-Go) that can be used by Blue Shield members to schedule healthcare transportation. CTC-Go allows members to review upcoming or past reservations, rate their ride, cancel an existing reservation, and schedule a new reservation. CTC-Go is available on iOS and Android. Search your app store for “CTC-Go” and download the application. Contact Call the Car should you need assistance on setting up or how to schedule a ride. Please book a ride at least 24 hours in advance. Call the Car is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.1

If you are experiencing an emergency, please call 911. Blue Shield's transportation service is for non-emergencies only, at plan-approved health-related locations.

You can receive text messages (SMS) for updates on your rides. You must have a text-enabled mobile phone. Standard message and data rates apply; please check with your mobile service provider.
