Primary care physicians (PCPs) and specialists
Like other PPO plans, Tandem PPO allows members to see any doctor or specialist in or out of the network. We also match members with a primary care physician (PCP) from the Tandem network.
Members don’t need to see their PCP first to receive care. But many find it useful having a PCP to turn to for healthcare advice. A PCP is especially useful for annual checkups and routine medical needs and screenings. For more complex medical needs, members can access specialists who can treat specific conditions.
NurseHelp 24/7SM offers members immediate and reliable health advice 24/7 over the phone or via online chat..
Board-certified, licensed doctors are available 24/7 by phone or video to treat non-emergency medical issues and provide prescriptions when needed.
CVS MinuteClinic® provides members with walk-in health care at CVS retail locations for non-emergency conditions. CVS MinuteClinic staff can offer help with things like immunizations, allergies, infections, coughs, and, flu symptoms.
Emergency room (ER) or urgent care
The emergency room (ER) is for true emergencies. Members should always go to the ER or dial 911 for any life-threatening emergency.
For non-emergencies, an urgent care center may save you time and money when your doctor isn’t available.
