Don Antonucci is senior vice president of Commercial Markets at Blue Shield of California, a 4-million-member nonprofit health plan that serves the state’s commercial, individual, and government markets. Antonucci is responsible for the management and performance of the company’s membership in Commercial Markets, including businesses of all sizes and key state agencies. He leads Blue Shield’s efforts to create a compelling value proposition across key lines of employer business. 

A healthcare leader and strategic growth executive, Antonucci has focused his career on applying his experience in research, marketing analytics, strategy, and sales to growing membership and strong financials for health insurers. For nearly 25 years, he has been bringing innovative products and services to markets throughout different parts of the United States with some of the nation’s leading publicly traded for-profit and nonprofit health insurers. 

Prior to joining Blue Shield, Antonucci served as the chief business development officer of 10xHealth, where he led the industrywide growth of the company’s cloud-based services and advanced technology solutions that focused on identifying and eliminating the risks and costs of suboptimal healthcare.

Previously, Antonucci served as president of Regence BlueShield (Washington state), as president of Regence BlueCross BlueShield of Oregon, and in senior-level sales management and marketing roles with Anthem, Inc. (Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield). 

Throughout his career, he has been actively involved with a wide range of nonprofit boards and professional organizations. He is a board member for the California Chamber of Commerce and the Silicon Valley Leadership Group.

Antonucci graduated from the State University of New York College at Cortland with a BA in political science and earned his MA in public policy analysis and administration from Binghamton University, State University of New York.
