Services available may include:
Personal counseling
You can request access to virtual or in-person counseling sessions with a licensed therapist at no additional cost. You’re eligible for three counseling sessions in a six-month period to help with many different concerns, including marriage and relationship issues, work stress, grief, and loss.
Legal assistance
You have access to one 60-minute consultation per issue per year with an attorney or mediator for legal matters such as divorce, trusts, civil issues, criminal cases, will preparation, as well as tenant issues. If you choose to retain the attorney following the initial consultation you may do so at seventy-five percent (75%) of the referral attorney’s standard charges.
Financial coaching
One 30-minute in-person consultation per issue per year and unlimited telephonic coaching is available to you for financial needs such as income tax preparation, retirement planning, budgeting, mortgages, and college funding.
Community resources
You’re eligible for unlimited consultations for referrals and resources to hundreds of needs, such as child and elder care, parenting resources, education and career development, after-school programs, meal programs, transportation assistance, relocation assistance, and caregiver support.
Identity theft assistance
You’re eligible for a 60-minute telephone consultation with a specialist who can help restore identity and credit, dispute fraudulent debts and help prevent future identity theft occurrences. An ID Theft Emergency Response KitSM is available to you at no extra cost.
Some services may not be available to all Blue Shield members; check your plan Evidence of Coverage to see what your plan covers. Any costs associated with using the community resources are the responsibility of the member. Legal consultations involving disputes with your employer (or other work-related issues) are excluded.
