How does the Promising Start program help?
Once you join the program, you can get a Promising Start Kit packed with useful items. Plus, we’ll help you schedule checkups for you and your little one to keep you both healthy. You can also earn up to $400 in Amazon.com, Inc. vouchers to get additional baby supplies by completing a series of postpartum and newborn health check-ups.
Joining is easy and at no cost, because we care about you and your baby’s journey.
It’s easy to get started
Call Blue Shield Promise Customer Service at (855) 699-5557 (TTY: 711), 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday. Tell them you want to join the Promising Start program.
Share an email address linked to your Amazon.com account. If you don’t have one, we’ll help you set it up.
1. Once you join the Promising Start program we will call you near your delivery date about getting the Promising Start kit. If you’ve already delivered, we’ll call you after you sign up.

2. After reaching a care milestone, give Customer Service a call to share the good news.
3. Amazon.com will email you a $100 voucher. Use the voucher to get diapers and other essentials from the Promising Start catalog on Amazon.com
Joining the Promising Start program is optional and at no cost for Blue Shield of California Promise Health Plan members. You must apply to enroll in this program. Enrollment is not guaranteed. Members who join this program do not qualify for any extra benefits through Amazon.com. You can stop being part of the program at any time for any reason. Being in the program will not affect your Medi-Cal benefits or coverage. Amazon.com is independent of Blue Shield of California Promise Health Plan and is used to provide products and delivery services to mailing addresses.
