Blue Shield’s vision plans* offer your clients access to the largest vision network† in California, with more than 20,000 eye doctors and 17,000 locations throughout the state. This includes major retail chains such as Costco (warehouse, membership required), Eye Exam CA, LensCrafters, Sam's Club, Target Optical, Walmart (wholesale), as well as independent eye care providers. Members even have the choice of using non-network vision providers for some services, but they will pay more out of pocket.
Members can purchase their contact lenses online with no claim forms or paperwork at comparable – and in many cases – lower costs than major online lens retailers. Members have access to a variety of online options including: contactsdirect.com, glasses.com, lenscrafters.com, oakley.com, ray-ban.com/insurance, and targetoptical.com.
And remember, all our medical plans cover pediatric dental and vision benefits for children up to age 19. This includes preventive care and routine services that play a valuable role in supporting the overall health of a child.
