Blue Shield offers a variety of PPO and Trio HMO plans designed to fit a range of budgets. Our plans are available for purchase directly through Blue Shield as well as Covered California.
PPO plans
With statewide coverage in all 58 counties, Blue Shield’s PPO plans are designed for your clients who are looking for the flexibility of seeing any doctor or specialist in one of the largest provider networks in the state. Our Exclusive PPO Network includes both in-person and virtual providers, giving your clients access to more than 71,000 doctors, 325 hospitals and 1,000 urgent care centers.

Trio HMO plans
Our Trio HMO plans are designed to give your clients access to a quality network of doctors and hospitals at an affordable price. The IFP Trio HMO network covers 28 counties and includes both in-person and virtual PCPs, giving your clients access to more than 9,000 primary care doctors, 33,000 specialists, and 300 hospitals.
