At the end of 2020, Blue Shield expanded digital communications preferences for members to medical ID cards. Below is more information and resources to support you and your clients as you navigate these changes.
Despite recent changes in processes, brokers still have the ability to reissue an ID card for their Small and Large group members via Broker Connection. To make the ID card ordering experience easier to navigate, we've developed a guide for your reference. Please view the step-by-step guide available under the resources section below.
As a reminder, we are honoring the member's communications delivery preferences, whether digital or physical. Brokers will be able to trigger a new ID at any time, unless the member is currently in an open enrollment period.
