How can I view my plan documents?
You can view your plan documents by entering your ID number, or view documents for all plans, on our benefits resources page. Or you can log in and find your plan documents in your online account. You can download and keep these documents in your files for future reference. If you need copies mailed to you, please call us at the phone number on the back of your Blue Shield member ID card.
How do I renew my current coverage with Blue Shield?
Want to continue coverage in the health plan you have now? Just keep paying your bill and we’ll automatically renew it for you. Covered California will contact you directly if there is anything you need to do to confirm your premium financial help or if there are any changes to your eligibility. How do I switch to a different Blue Shield plan sold through Covered California?

Can I qualify for financial help with my premiums?
The amount of government premium financial help that Californians can qualify for is based on several factors. Age, household income and size, and the cost of affordable healthcare coverage in their region are all considered. Premium help is available only for medical plans purchased through Covered California.

What happens if I don’t renew my coverage?
Californians are required to be enrolled in and maintain minimum essential coverage throughout the year. This is known as the individual mandate. In other words, if you do not have health coverage, you may have to pay more in taxes. Staying covered can help you to avoid this tax penalt
