Virta® is a lifestyle management program designed to help lower A1c, lose weight, and reduce or stop medications.
Eligible members have access to a dedicated medical team, health coaches, supplies, recipes, member support, and more at no additional cost.
Through Care Management, eligible members are assigned to a dedicated care manager and health team. Your team can help you set and meet goals. They can also help you manage blood sugar and answer questions. The program is available to eligible members at no extra cost.

Care Management: Call the phone number listed above to determine if your plan includes Care Management. Participation in this program will not affect your benefits. Blue Shield will pay benefits according to the coverage available through your health plan. Your choice of healthcare providers is also based on your health plan coverage.
The Diabetes Prevention Program is provided by Solera Health, an independent company. You must qualify to access this program.
Maven is available to most Blue Shield members and their dependents through three months postpartum, check your plan for coverage information. Maven is independent of Blue Shield of California and is contracted by Blue Shield to provide maternity benefits including care advocacy, virtual consultations, coaching, and education. Contact your primary care provider, treating specialist, facility, or other health professional to learn whether telehealth is an option. Network telehealth and in-person services are subject to the same timeliness and geographic access standards. If your plan has out-of-network benefits, they are subject to your plan’s cost-sharing obligations and balance billing protections.
