COVID-19 information

Blue Shield of California is committed to ensuring ongoing coverage and access to preventive, evidence-based care, including immunizations. COVID-19 vaccines, testing, and treatment are still covered for most Blue Shield of California members. For details, check your Evidence of Coverage.

How to get tested, vaccinated, and more

Testing

You should get tested for COVID-19 immediately if you are experiencing symptoms.

Over-the-counter (OTC) COVID-19 tests are generally available at a local pharmacy or other locations. You can use funds from your health savings account (HSA) or flexible spending account (FSA) to pay for tests at these locations. Please note, if you use an HSA or FSA to pay, you will not be eligible to receive a Blue Shield of California reimbursement.

COVID-19 vaccine information

Schedule an appointment in your area or learn more about the vaccine.

Treatment

Some people who test positive for COVID-19 may benefit from medication, which is more effective the sooner it is taken. Consult your primary care provider or an in-network urgent care.
