What’s the best way to apply for a position at Blue Shield of California?

Search and apply for a job on our careers site. Once you have created your profile you will be able to search and apply for other roles. You are also able to set-up job alerts.

Do I need to re-enter my personal information every time I apply to a role that I am interested in?

If you save information in your general profile, the system will automatically save and populate your information for future submissions. We encourage updating your profile when there are changes to your job history.

How can I request accommodations for the submission process?

If you need assistance or an accommodation applying for a role with Blue Shield of California, please contact RehabWest, Inc. at (760) 759-7500.

I did not receive a confirmation email after submitting my application. How can I confirm the submission went through?

When logged in to your general profile, you can view your submissions by going to "My Jobs" page and looking at the first tab, "My Submissions." If the submission process was completed, the job will show up under completed submissions. If the submission is in progress, it will appear as a "Draft Submission."

I submitted my application. Why have I not heard back from a recruiter?

Due to the high volume of submissions we receive, we cannot contact each person who applies to a role. If your skills and experience appear to match the requirements of the position, a recruiter may contact you.

When uploading attachments (resume, cover letters, portfolios, etc.), what are the file types requirements?

You can upload an attachment in any of the following file formats: Word (.doc, .docx); Excel (.xls, .xlsx); Rich Text Format (.rtf); Hypertext Markup Language (.htm, .html); Portable Document Format (.pdf); and Text (.txt).

How do I make sure the Talent Acquisition team will see the relevant resume and/or cover letter for a specific job submission?

We encourage you to keep an updated resume, cover letter, portfolios, etc. in your general profile so that the most recent and relevant copies are being reviewed by the Talent Acquisition team.

Does Blue Shield of California hire students, interns, and new graduates?

Yes! Blue Shield offers programs and opportunities to students and recent graduates. Learn more about our programs.

Does Blue Shield of California have an employee referral program?

We do have an employee referral program and encourage employees to submit referrals for specific positions. Employees will receive referral bonuses for hires made through referrals. We also encourage prospective candidates to reach out to friends and/or former colleagues who work at Blue Shield and request that they submit a referral on their behalf.

Will the personal information that I provide on your careers site be shared with third parties?

Your information will never be shared with third-party vendors without your authorization. Candidates who receive an offer of employment are required to complete background check with our external vendors. Our vendors are required to keep your information secure and confidential.

I’m experiencing technical difficulties with the career site functionalities (i.e. logging in, job search, completing an application, etc.). How do I get help?

Please contact ORC.Admin@blueshieldca.com and explain what difficulties you’re experiencing. A member of our team will respond and offer assistance in a timely manner.
