Jeff Semenchuk is senior vice president and chief innovation officer at Blue Shield of California, a 4-million-member nonprofit health plan that serves the state’s commercial, individual, and government markets.
Semenchuk is responsible for institutionalizing new and different ways of thinking and identifying and implementing innovative ideas to help Blue Shield transform health care.
Before joining in 2018, he was the chief executive officer at Yaro (formerly Zest Health), a healthcare and financial technology startup, and the chief innovation officer at Hyatt Hotels, where he drove innovative thinking at all levels of the organization. He also held roles as the co-founder and chief executive officer of Citi Ventures and managing director of Citi’s global ventures and innovation team, as well as head of global innovation at Pfizer Consumer Healthcare.
Semenchuk has a bachelor of arts in communications from Wheaton College and a master of arts in communications from Northern Illinois University.
