Filling your prescription through a mail service pharmacy
Blue Shield provides access to prescription mail service through a Network Mail Service Pharmacy, which offers you the convenience of receiving up to a 90-day supply of covered maintenance drugs* delivered to your home or office, with no charge for shipping.
*Maintenance drugs are those prescribed to treat a chronic or long-term medical condition such as asthma, diabetes, high blood pressure, or high cholesterol, and are taken on an ongoing, regular basis to maintain health.
How to register with Network Mail Service Pharmacy to receive your prescriptions by mail
Step 1: Register
To receive medications through a mail service pharmacy, you must first register online, by phone or by mail to provide the information required, such as your name, shipping address, payment method and drug allergies. Instructions for each registration method are listed below:
- Online — Visit Caremark.com and click the link to register.
Please note: When registering online, enter only the Member ID starting after the first three characters along with all other required fields.
Caremark.com cannot calculate the estimated drug cost of your order at this time. We apologize for any inconvenience. You can find prescription drug cost-share information by logging in to the member portal on blueshieldca.com and choosing Pharmacy Claims from the My Plan & Claims tab located at the top of the page, by reviewing your plan documents or calling the phone number on the back of your member ID card.
- By Phone — Call (866) 346-7200. (Members using TTY equipment can order forms by calling TTY/TTD: 711)
- By Mail — Download and print out the mail service order form.
Step 2: New Prescriptions
Once you are registered, you will need to provide your prescription to the mail service pharmacy. Prescriptions can be sent electronically, or by phone, fax or mail:
- Electronically — Ask your doctor to send an electronic prescription for a 90-day supply to CVS Caremark Mail Service Pharmacy. This is called "e-prescribing" and is the simplest way to send a prescription. To e-prescribe choose:

- By Phone or Fax — Request your doctor to submit your prescription for a 90-day supply by phone or fax to CVS Caremark Mail Service Pharmacy.

- By Mail — If you already have a written prescription from your doctor for a 90-day supply, you can mail it with your applicable mail service copayment and a copy of your Blue Shield member ID card along with your mail service order form. Download and print out the mail service order form.
Step 3: Delivery
Once you have registered and provided the mail service pharmacy with your prescription, please allow 10 to 14 business days to receive your covered maintenance medications.
Step 4: Ordering Refills
Once your prescription is on file with the mail service pharmacy, please allow five to eight business days to receive refills of your covered medications. You may order your refill prescriptions online, by phone or by mail.

You can check the status of your order or you can order prescription refills by automatically signing into Caremark.com to manage your mail service account or by calling (866) 346-7200. If you rely on TTY equipment, please call 711.
Prescriptions sent by your doctor electronically to the mail service pharmacy may be automatically renewed electronically. Please check with the mail service pharmacy to see if an electronic renewal has been sent to your doctor for prescriptions that have expired.
